Maisie Evans’ body of work, Allure, is comprised of twelve digital photographs that primarily explore how colours are used within the city to provoke and influence the emotions and desires of the viewers. Inspiration has been taken from key paintings and painters from the last century, as well as the photographers who later picked up on this abstract approach and applied it to their own practice. The photographs have been purposefully crafted to mimic how the human eye and mind perceives the world around us, and to immerse the viewer in the beautifully vivid photographs. The movements of the lights within the frame reflect the sensations and anxiousness felt by the photographer caught within this consuming society.
